Project Background
Sunwoda is a leading lithium-ion battery manufacturer, with businesses spanning EV, consumer electronics, and energy storage batteries. Its Huizhou campus is a major new energy manufacturing base. Continuous production and complex building services and energy systems create significant opportunities to improve the efficiency of HVAC, compressed air, and dehumidification equipment.
Key Challenges Before the Upgrade
HVAC, compressed air, and dehumidification equipment relied primarily on manual control, limiting real-time adjustment to changing end-use demand.
Existing energy monitoring focused on equipment electricity consumption and lacked effective energy management capabilities.
Manual operations limited access to information, fault response efficiency, and inspection record management.
Integrated Energy Management Solution
Following on-site surveys and energy assessments, DeepCtrls developed improvements focused on energy efficiency, operational safety, and maintenance. Building on existing automation systems, the project introduced coordinated control and energy optimization across HVAC, compressed air, and dehumidification systems. A digital platform strengthened operational monitoring, early fault warnings, and data analysis.
Projected Energy Savings
According to the original WeChat project article, projected energy savings are 15% for HVAC, 9% for compressed air, and 6% for dehumidification. Based on the annual electricity consumption of a single factory building, estimated savings total approximately 2.62 million kWh per year. At an electricity rate of RMB 0.70/kWh, this represents approximately RMB 1.83 million in annual electricity cost savings.
Project Value
The project integrates energy system control, efficiency analysis, and maintenance management into a unified platform. It supports Sunwoda’s efforts to improve energy efficiency, strengthen operational safety, and develop a smart, zero-carbon campus.
