PTT and DeepCtrls Partner to Advance Energy Efficiency and Low-Carbon Development in Southeast Asia
Published: 2025-12-25
Thailand’s leading national energy company, PTT, and DeepCtrls recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Bangkok and launched an AI-powered HVAC energy optimization project at the Energy Complex (EnCo). Mr. Sirasak Chandrema, President of Energy Complex, and Zhang Yuxin, COO of DeepCtrls, attended the signing with their respective teams to discuss the partnership.
Founded in 1978 and headquartered in Bangkok, PTT is a Thai government-controlled listed company. Originally established as the Petroleum Authority of Thailand under the Ministry of Industry, it manages petroleum and natural gas resources on behalf of the government. Its businesses span oil and gas exploration and production, refining, petroleum storage, transportation and sales, and natural gas processing. In May 2020, PTT ranked 170th on the Forbes Global 2000.
The partnership’s first project focuses on optimizing HVAC energy performance at EnCo. Jointly developed by PTT and its exploration and production subsidiary, PTTEP, the complex was conceived as a shared office hub for energy companies and government agencies. It aims to improve collaboration, reduce operating costs, and explore integrated approaches to energy, buildings, and environmental sustainability.
Designed from the outset as a model of energy efficiency and environmental responsibility, EnCo follows Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards and ASHRAE 90.1. It incorporates centralized energy management across its electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
The complex currently consumes approximately 81.30 kWh/m² annually, substantially below the 140–200 kWh/m² typical of conventional buildings. As Bangkok’s first green building to achieve LEED Platinum certification, EnCo has also received the Thailand Energy-Efficient Building Award, Thailand Energy Awards, ASEAN Energy Awards, and other recognitions.
Building on this foundation, EnCo and DeepCtrls will pursue further HVAC efficiency improvements during operation. Powered by DeepCtrls’ PhyAI energy optimization and control system, the project uses AI modeling and simulation to enable real-time sensing, intelligent reasoning, and dynamic control. It will identify additional system-level savings within an already high-performing building, unlocking sustained improvements in energy performance.
Once delivered, the project will support EnCo’s long-term ESG goals: reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 15% by 2030 against a 2020 baseline and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
As a leader in global energy efficiency transformation for the AI era, DeepCtrls continues to expand internationally through technological innovation. Its PhyAI technology and energy efficiency agents already serve companies including BOE, Foxconn, Goertek, LG, VinFast, and Infinaxis, supporting both Chinese enterprises operating overseas and leading international businesses through an established global service network.
The strategic partnership with PTT brings DeepCtrls into collaboration with one of Thailand’s foremost industry leaders and opens a new phase of joint work in energy efficiency. It also marks an important milestone in DeepCtrls’ expansion across Southeast Asia and its support for local businesses’ low-carbon transition.
