Project Overview

Yongchuan Aiqing Plaza, part of Great Wall Group, recently celebrated its opening alongside the “Enjoy Shopping in Chongqing and Yongchuan” consumer campaign.

As China advances its carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, digital, low-carbon operations are becoming an increasingly important approach to urban and industrial development. Guided by safety, care, sustainability, and efficiency, Deepctrls developed a digital management platform to help Aiqing Plaza operate safely, reduce energy consumption and operating costs, and improve maintenance efficiency.

1. Safety: Integrated Protection Across Operating Scenarios

Using Internet of Things (IoT) and Integrated Building Management System (IBMS) technologies, the platform brings 17 intelligent subsystems—including fire protection, video surveillance, visitor flow, parking, HVAC, and lighting—into a unified management environment. It enables centralized, closed-loop safety management based on the Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA) cycle.

An Aiqing Commercial representative introduces the platform’s operations and maintenance capabilities.

Security Alerts

When a security alarm occurs, the platform immediately activates a coordinated response. It displays nearby camera feeds, issues an alert, and sends mobile notifications, allowing operators to respond promptly and management to stay informed.

Power Distribution Alerts

The platform coordinates multiple systems to support safe electrical distribution. When an alarm occurs, its location flashes in the Building Information Modeling (BIM) view, helping operators pinpoint the issue. Equipment operating parameters and nearby camera feeds appear automatically, alongside alarm notifications.

Coordinated Fire Response

The fire protection system is closely integrated with the digital platform. The plaza has multiple on-site fire response stations and personnel on duty around the clock.

During a fire incident, fire alarms, camera feeds, and location data are linked to quickly identify the affected area and assess conditions. Operators and managers receive immediate app notifications, and the corresponding fire response plan is activated to protect on-site safety.

2. Care: Environmental Monitoring and Smooth Operations

Combining big data analytics with intelligent diagnostics, the platform integrates indoor environmental monitoring and crowd congestion alerts into a connected, visual management system.

Indoor Comfort

The platform continuously monitors temperature, humidity, CO₂ concentration, and illuminance in key areas, including the atrium, shopping walkways, and anchor stores. Using outdoor weather and visitor flow data, it intelligently adjusts central air conditioning and lighting to maintain a comfortable shopping environment.

Visitor Safety

Real-time visitor counts and camera feeds cover entrances, exits, the atrium, and other areas. The platform issues alerts when visitor density becomes excessive or congestion develops, supporting safe plaza operations.

3. Sustainability: Physics-Based AI Optimization for Energy and Carbon Reduction

The platform incorporates an AI-powered central air conditioning optimization system built on high-precision performance models.

Equipment-level models combine physical principles with AI to identify the most efficient control settings in real time. While meeting design requirements and cooling demand, the system is expected to achieve central air conditioning energy savings of more than 20%.

An integrated energy and carbon management framework uses submetering to map energy flows across the plaza in a single view. It analyzes consumption by location, time, and other dimensions, while operational data supports carbon management throughout the facility’s lifecycle and progress toward carbon peaking and neutrality goals.

4. Efficiency: Streamlined Operations and Maintenance

The platform records operating data for all equipment in real time and automatically generates reports based on management requirements. This substantially reduces manual meter reading and recordkeeping.

Using an asset register and work orders, the platform digitizes repair requests, inspections, and preventive maintenance.

Managers can review work order trends, category breakdowns, and rankings to supervise maintenance activities, assess performance, and maintain service satisfaction.

5. Advancing Low-Carbon Digital Management

Deepctrls’ platform connects previously isolated systems and enables AI-powered energy optimization at Yongchuan Aiqing Plaza.

As operating data accumulates, it will support a growing knowledge base and expanded capabilities in AI diagnostics, electricity demand response, and continuous refinement of control strategies and management practices. These developments will help standardize energy-saving solutions, improve maintenance management, and advance the plaza’s carbon reduction goals.
